They don't even bother to take you in a boat to get there...instead they will provide you with a home made styrofoam raft...The package also include lunch, but the food'd taste was terrible ! There is almost nothing to see, they just take a picture of you snorkeling and thats all, not beautiful at all. However, the real reason we had the worst experience here, was because of people. All of us were Europeans and we were wearing swimsuits or bikinis, people stared, asked for photos, took photos without our permission, laughed at us, asked us to cover... So We decided to go somewhere else with the boat we rented and just swim around the boat, but when we were back to the harbor, some of them were waiting for us while they were recording us, telling us we weren't able to wear like that in their country, etc etc.. We took a walk around the island and everywhere you look was pulluded. Don't miss the last boat around 17u. We missed it because the owner of the last shop at the beach at the westside of the island told us we could be picked from there. When the shop closed at 17u there was no boat and we saw the last boat far away not stopping. We tried to negotiate at the harbour but we had to pay 500. 000rp instead of the regular if you negotiate make sure you are alone because the whole village will join what is a very bad thing because the ask the jackpot. To stay the night at the island is difficult because there are no hotels/hostels. We don't advice to go because there is nothing to do on the island. The beach is clean and has white sands. The snorkelling sites is quite clean and clear. Athough not so much corals to see, there is a lot of fishes. Colorful and many species. not so deep that children will easily can join to have the experience. If you are sea lovers who stay in Surabaya and around, this is the first choice if you only have a limited time. At the island organisation of snorkles etc and then by boat out to the snorkeling sites. These are actually accessible from the shore as well as from boat. Enjoyed the warm water. The snorkeling experience is not that great but that possibly also depends from day to day and your expectations. Back on shore we were treated with food - rice and grilled fish super nice. I really enjoyed this day. And I get underwater photographs also. But idk for solo traveler how much the expense. Maybe it's not too expensive night, we camp together here, where you can hear the sea waves. Indeed very dark in this place, since the lamp is very minimal, so if you have emergency lamp better you bring food, I got fish grill fresh from the sea for 3 times meal from the tour. But if you bored with it, you can eat Indomie or another food from some food stalls forget if you need to pay for toilet usage here. Such as IDR 3,000 for bath and IDR 2,000 for so many goat starving here, so please be nice with the goat.
